LHA8950C

The LHA8950 is an 18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter powered by a single VDD supply rail. It integrates a low-power high-speed 18-bit sampling ADC and a multi-function serial interface port. On the rising edge of the CNV conversion trigger signal, the LHA8950 samples the differential voltage between IN+ and IN− pins; the voltage on IN+ swings from 0 V to VREF, while IN− is tied to ground. The reference voltage (REF) is supplied externally and can operate independently of the main VDD supply. The device power consumption varies linearly with sampling throughput. The SPI-compatible serial interface allows multiple ADC chips to be daisy-chained onto a single 3-wire SPI bus via the SDI input pin, with an optional conversion busy status indicator. A separate VIO I/O supply rail enables native compatibility with 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3 V and 5 V microcontroller logic voltages. The LHA8950 is available in 10-lead MSOP and compact 10-lead 3 mm × 3 mm QFN packages, specified over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.
